The Inchcape class of motor sailers, in lengths between 32ft and 50ft, were introduced in 1963 by the East Coast Yacht Agency and built by craftsmen alongside traditional wooden Scottish fishing boats at the Berwickshire yard established in 1850.
Wheel steering, four berths in saloon, galley, heads, Taylors stove, counter-balanced mast in tabernacle, ground tackle, radar scanner, wooden beaching legs, fenders and lifelines.
The wheelhouse and hull of this heavily-constructed double-ender are in desperate need of a major overhaul but the Gardner 3LW might well justify a rescue. Although the Weaver Shipyard must be cleared for partial re-development, BLOSSOM is lying on the hard by the navigable River Weaver with a crane and road transport immediately available.
