HEIDI

Fuel system: 3 x 500-litre metal fuel tanks, filled from portside amidhips and served by a Flojet diesel transfer pump, are fitted in the hold under the saloon, forward of the engine room and filtered in the engine room by Racor primary filters.

Engine cooling: Raw water is drawn from seawater intake seacock through a strainer and an anti-syphon arrangement by a Jabsco raw water pump into engine heat exchangers, cooling fresh water in the closed engine circuits and also feeding the water-injected exhaust system. Flexible water-cooled exhaust hoses lead to separators mounted above the waterline in the engine room.

Exhaust system: Rubber exhaust hoses lead to Halyard HMI moulded water separators, mounted high in engine room, reducing exhaust outlet splashing by exhausting dry gases through stainless steel flaps on the transom quarters while separated water is ejected below the waterline.

Steering Gear: Parsons Mathway rod and gear steering from dual helm positions to twin bronze rudders coupled by a connecting road and linked to a Raymarine autohelm ram. Max Power 24V 125 Duo bow thruster.

Electrical system: includes 12-volt and 24-volt systems with four Hankook 68032 180Ah vented commercial type 629 heavy starting batteries mounted behind panel in the deck saloon, charged by upgraded 24V 55 amp alternators on both engines, by a Zeise diesel generator and by adaptive battery management by Victron Phoenix charger from shore power. Cristec CPS 12V 6amp automatic battery charger. The panel also carries Clipper battery monitors, a shore power switch, a battery bank switch, a 24V AC monitor with circuit breakers and warning lights, with voltmeters, for the Walter Z-drives. Ship's lighting is 24V. Full wiring plans in ship's handbook.

The interconnector master switch, the starting and service battery master switches, the 12V and 24V switchboards and the Ective K01 Remote control with charge level indicator for the Victron inverter are fitted behind a panel in the dinette area.

The batteries and switchgear are all reached from the dinette area. Two plastic cases in the saloon contain a complete set of manuals and handbooks for all equipment.

Fresh water system: from midship filler portside to three 283-litre [75 gallon] galvanised steel tanks in the hold under the deck saloon feeding a Flojet automatic water pressure system with electrical heating from shore power or from engine heat exchangers using a VAREM 100-litre accumulator tank. Drinking water supplied from 56-litre stainless steel tank to dedicated tap in galley.

Hull skin fittings below waterline: Forward heads: WC intake, WC discharge, washbasin discharge. Galley: sink discharge. Aft heads: WC intake, WC discharge, bath drain. Separated water from exhausts. Raw water intakes with seacocks to port engine, starboard engine and generator. All serviced during 2022 overhaul in Whitehaven.

Safety equipment: Simrad A150 class B standalone AIS system to IMO standard with independent GPS and VHF aerials and display, Raymarine RL70c integrated with chart plotter; distress flare pack, 4-man liferaft, horseshoe lifebuoys and four lifejackets; Rope-cutters on propellers; Firemaster automatic fire suppression unit recharged 2021, dry powder fire extinguishers and 1sqm galley fire blanket; Radar reflector.
