The 1999 Good Yacht Guide describes the Fisher 30 as

"The most popular of the range over the years and one of the first to be introduced. She is based on the Gordon Wyatt designed Freeward 30. She has the canoe stern like all the larger Fishers [but not the Fisher 25]. Below the layout is similar to the 25 but on a grander scale with 6ft 4in headroom. The larger enclosed wheelhouse with side windows offers a good all round view and allows room for a settee/passage berth. The cockpit is rather small but the whole boat is finished well and is very strongly built. She holds her value well."
