Engine: Yanmar 2GM20 (F( raw water-cooled 2-cylinder 4-stroke vertical marine diesel engine with KM2-C constant mesh gearbox with servo cone clutch. 1996 model, built in Japan, 14558, delivers DIN hp 16 at high speed 3400rpm through shaft to folding bronze propeller fitted with rope-cutters. Hull: Hand laid white grp hull and deck incorporates bonded-in Bruynzeel marine plywood bulkheads and a moulded head lining. This pioneering, pionieren in Dutch, grp racer has proved enormously strong and durable. The main bulkhead bears the loading from the deck-stepped mast on two overhead beams. The cast iron keel is secured to glassed-in hardwood bearers by stainless steel studs. Thge spade rudder is mounted on a stainless steel fabrication welded to the solid stainless steel stock with upper and lower bearings. The rigging baby stay is braced by a wire strop in the focsle running from the deck-head to the hull. Blue canvas sprayhood with transparent panels. Ventilated wooden washboards in companion way. Teak slat cockpit seating and teak slat cockpit sole. Hull painted in 2019 and anti-fouled in 2020.
Deck gear: Tiller steering with Nautech Autohelm 2000M tiller pilot, two 2012 Lewmar 40ST EVO self-tailing spinnaker sheet winches, two Lewmar 25 two-speed sheet winches, two Lewmar 25 two-speed deck-mounted halyard winches, CQR drop-forged anchor with chain and rope scope, 10 mooring warps and 6 fenders. Accommodation: Saloon fitted in wood with white-panelled lockers, warm air heating by a gas-powered Truma combined air and hot water unit. Port and starboard settee berths with soft grey waterproof textile cushions seating four diners around a folding wooden table. There are two short V-berths in the focsle and one full quarter berth by a wooden chart desk and instrument panels. Galley comprises a stainless steel sink with cold water tap supplied from 50-litre fresh water tank under port settee berth, a two burner hob and grill supplied from the cockpit gas locker. Deep cool locker and numerous wooden drawers and cupboards with cutlery, pots and pans. Heads are forward of main bulkhead in a screened wet room area with a recent Jabsco Twist 'n' Lock compact manual sea lavatory. Deep hanging locker. Bluetooth marine stereo and radio system.
WAVELENGTH has been cruised extensively in the Irish Sea and the West of Scotland during the ten years of her current ownership but she must now be sold due to recent ill-health. She is currently stored, de-rigged, on the hard at Weaver Shipyard, Northwich, Cheshire, CW8 1LB, alongside the navigable River Weaver with a yard crane and road transport immediately available.
